  2. WHAT ARE? • Settlers from Tepalcatepec who were organized first stealthily and then began to appear increasingly to defend themselves against Caballeros Templarios.

  3. BACKGROUD INFORMATION • The region is one of the main producers of marijuana and methamphetamine from Mexico, and strategic stop of cocaine trafficking. The instability forced the federal Government to send the army last November at the port of Lazaro Cardenas, on the Pacific coast, and the higher point of entry of burden the country. • Calderón started a war against narcotrafic the 11/December /2006;7000 soldiers were send to Michoacán. • Thefightbetween Caballeros Templarios to control thedistribution of drugs in Michoacan.

  4. CONTROLLED PLACES BY SELF DEFENCES • The Autodefensas took the municipalities of Agulilla, Coalcomán, Chinicuila, Buenavista, Aquila, La Huacana, Paracuáro, Tancitaro, Nueva Italia de Ruíz AND finally Apatzingán and bastión de Los Caballeros Templariosand others more.

José Manuel Mireles Valverde • Jose Manuel MirelesValverde is a doctor and Mexican combatant, leader of a group of self-defense to fight against the Knights Templar in the state of Michoacan. • On 27 June 2014, Mireles was arrested with 45 other people in Lazaro Cardenas Michoacan by Mexican authorities for violating the Federal Law of Mexico of Firearms and Explosives.

  8. CONCLUTION • It is a very serious issue and those responsible for handling this situation is the government and the police. The Autodefensas are only trying to defend themselves and make the narco is not goal with his family, even give their lives for this, seek to create an awareness that something can be done and that this is wrong. Unfortunately it is the situation that we are currently living through; we are leading a life where there is a lot of insecurity, corruption and the people is not heard.
