  2. Nelson Mandela He campaigned for justice and freedom in his South Africa. Martin Luther King He was an inspiring leader of the non-violent civil rights movement who inspired millions of people black and white to aspire for a more equal and just society.

  3. Albert Einstein His theories of relativity were a very significant scientific breakthrough. As well as being a genius scientist, Einstein was also a champion of human rights and campaigned for a more peaceful world. Mother Teresa A modern day saint who sought to identify with and offer compassion to the unloved and destitute.

  4. Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln overcame many setbacks to become the most influential American President. Helen Keller Despite disability of both deafness and blindness, she learned to read and write, becoming a champion of social issued and helping to improve the welfare of deaf people.

  5. Bethany Hamilton She is known for surviving a shark attack in which her left arm was bitten off, and for overcoming the injury to ultimately return to professional surfing. Jackie Robinson He was the first baseball player to break the Major League Baseball's color barrier that segregated the sport for more than 50 years.

  6. Rosa Parks She was an African-American civil rights activist whom the United States Congress called "the first lady of civil rights" and "the mother of the freedom movement". Marie Curie She is one of the few scientists to win a Nobel Prize for both Chemistry and Physics. Her discoveries with radiation helped advance medical science. Her achievements were even more remarkable at a time when few women had the opportunity to gain education.

  7. James Abbott He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played despite having been born without a right hand. Malala Yousafzai She is a Pakistani teenage rights activist who survived a Taliban assassination attempt in 2012.
