Test Taking Strategies For Success on the EOCT.
Preparation • It is important to prepare for a test in advance. Nothing good comes from simply “winging” anything that you do. • Practice • Practice tests and review is the best way to prepare. • Studying over long periods is more effective than cramming the night before a test.
Preparation • Get a good night’s sleep before the test. Pulling an all-nighter studying will only hurt your performance. • Eat a good breakfast the morning of the test. Avoid eating sugary foods. High-protein foods like scrambled eggs are often best for aiding concentration and minimizing fatigue. • Wear comfortable clothing.
During the test • Don’t panic. • Take your time. • Use the restroom if you have to. A full bladder will only distract your concentration. • Don’t worry about other people being finished before you. Eliminate outlandish answers from difficult questions (-). • React and Review: • React with your instincts if struggling. If you feel in your gut that an answer is right, it probably is. If time, Review
