State of the UTRA Union • Since October 2008: • Four quarterly in-person meetings, rotating between Buffalo and Rochester; one webinar • Averaging 30 people per meeting • Sponsored one networking event in Batavia • Sponsored Worldatwork certification course • Became Local Network of WorldatWork
State of the UTRA Union • Since October 2008: • Developed website www.upstatetotalrewards.org • Developed our branding, including a logo, tag line and colors, working with Gram Design • Explored using outside vendors to assist in website development; decided to keep internal at this point
State of the UTRA Union • Since October 2008: • Initial mailing list 38 individuals across 33 companies • Now 109 individuals across 59 companies • Companies represent a broad spectrum • Held elections • Have draft by-laws, being finalized under advice of attorney • Three additional committees formed
State of the UTRA Union • For 2010 and Beyond (under consideration): • Continue to partner with WorldatWork for educational and revenue generating opportunities • Implement an annual membership fee, inclusive of a student fee • Develop a members only section on our website to foster increased networking opportunities
State of the UTRA Union • For 2010 and Beyond (under consideration): • Develop a job posting database to assist in recruitment and provide an additional revenue source • Develop contacts in Buffalo and Rochester media to raise the profile of the group • Develop a joint meeting or event with local SHRM organizations and/or the Greater Toronto Rewards Association
State of the UTRA Union • For 2010 and Beyond (under consideration): • Continue to build on our membership base to be take advantage of opportunities provided larger organizations, such as the WorldatWork speakers bureau • Develop partnerships with select local colleges to foster student interest in the organization and profession • Audit Committee to be implemented
Organizational Committee Update • Elections • 66 members were eligible to vote based on their prior attendance at a UTRA meeting • 33 votes were cast (50% of those eligible) • President – Bob Lampka 33 votes • Vice President – Rose Sweeney 32 votes • Treasurer – Lisa McLaughlin 33 votes • Secretary – Chuck Brown 33 votes
Organizational Committee Update • Elections/Organizational Matters • By-law draft - Approved 32 votes; 1 No with suggested changes to be incorporated • Met with Buffalo area attorney that specializes in non-profits; he is providing assistance in becoming a more formal organization

Events Committee Update • WorldatWork certification courses for 2010 at Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls • C12 Variable Pay – Improving Performance with Variable Pay - May 3rd and 4th • C17 Market Pricing – Conducting a Competitive Pay Analysis – September 13th and 14th • 5% discount to be offered UTRA members for registering at least a month prior to the event
Events Committee Update • April meeting likely Thursday 15th or 29th and hosted by Lawley, who will be presenting on Wellness Initiatives; plan to have networking lunch immediately after meeting • ESL Federal Credit Union in Rochester tentative host July meeting; ideas for guest speaker needed • WorldatWork offers a speakers bureau with attendance of 50 or more

Communications/Web Design Committee Update • Since our last update, the primary focus has been keeping our website current and sharing relevant information with members. That has included: • Promoting upcoming events • Recapping events that have occurred • Maintaining an archive of presentation materials from previous meetings
Communications/Web Design Committee Update • Our intent is to have our website as the primary source of communication for members • During 2010, we will look to add new features and types of content which members find valuable • To identify these features, we will be surveying members • We will also be seeking individuals who have an interest in providing content
