Word study Word Study • Meaning • a.m.: (also: AM, A.M. am; L. ante meridiem) before noon • barber shop: a place where a person cuts men’s hair and shaves them\ • bill: a list of things bought and their price • bookshop: a shop where book are sold • bore: to make someone tired or uninterested • brush: a device for cleaning, painting, etc. • café: a small restaurant where light meals and drinks are served
