  2. We are the Riaces Bronzes. We can’t remember where we come from… Can you help us to remember our origins, please? 

  3. I’ll help you! Probably you come from Greece but we have to investigate! Someone found us on the Calabrian Coasts. How have we arrived here? ehmm  Houston, we have a problem!

  4. In the 8th and 7th centuries BC, for various reasons, including the demographic crisis, the search for new commercial outlets and ports, and expulsion from their homeland, Greeks began to settle in southern Italy.

  5. There were some ships with soldiers who were going to conquer the land and maybe someone brought you there. They called the area of south Italy Magna Graecia (“Great Greece”), since it was so densely inhabited by the Greeks.

  6. Greeks lived here for a long time and they spoke their language. Really?! And how could locals understand this language?

  7. They started speaking Greek, too. As a matter of fact many Italian words come from Greek. Which words???

  8. Φίλος = amico = friend Νεάπολις = Naples "New City"  Άνθρωπος = uomo = man Ψυχή = anima = soul Τέχνη = arte = art Σοφία = saggezza = wisdom Πολίτης = cittadino = citizen Καρδιά = cuore = heart

  9. They imported the Hellenic culture and also buildings like these. Taormina Siracusa Agrigento

  10. Oh, now everything is clearer! So we have the same origins! Yes you are our forefathers! We are curious to discover other things in common . 
