Darien has responded to these changes by: Aligning our curriculum to meet the standards Supporting teachers with mathematics, technology and literacy coordinators Supporting teachers in the implementation of this curriculum with on the ground professional development and opportunities to work in professional learning communities as they implement the curriculum
K-5 Writing Curriculum The writing curriculum includes 3 types of writing -narrative (story) -informational -persuasive Students learn these types of writing through the writing process in studies of different kinds of authentic writing (persuasive letters, literary essays, historical fiction)
