Dry forests are recognized in India, Indochina, W. Africa, W. Madagascar, Chile, Southern Africa, S. America, north and south of the Amazon, Central America, W. Indies, and N. Australia.
Climate • Average temperature is 27ºC (81ºF) • During dry season the temperature has been known to increase to 37ºC (99ºF) • Average rainfall 150-200 cm
Trees and Plants • Most trees and shrubs are deciduous • Have up to 40 tree species • Have up to 224 plant species Ceiba trichastandra
Threats • Deforestation • Agriculture • Erosion
