College ready graduates • The CDE currently reports that 43% of all graduates in the state of CA complete the a-g requirements for a CSU/UC. 34% of the graduates were categorized as socio-economically disadvantaged • 45.0 % of graduating seniors in Fresno County completed a-g requirements • FUSD serves 74,155 (preschool-grade 12) • 7,681 students receive special education services • 16,180 English learners (21.8% of students) More than 88% living in poverty • We must do better than 40%!

For the past three years, over 90% of graduating seniors have successfully completed English 1A • Every student receives a Student Education Plan • Every student receives opportunities to earn dual enrollment credit and honors designation based on the 200+ courses listed on the FCC UC Doorways and assist.org • Every student is presented with rigorous coursework through dual enrollment at FCC.

PSAT PSAT RESULTS REPORTS BY COLLEGEBOARD FALL 2016 All students take the PSAT in grades 9th through 11th. All students are expected to take part in our school wide Khan Academy PSAT test prep.
General Information Calendar- Our calendar is aligned to the Fresno City College academic calendar Transportation- Our students are provided with an FCC Student ID card which allows students to ride public transportation for FREE Data Sharing MOU- Allows for data sharing between district and community college partner. FUSD has aligned coursework with FCC courses to ensure dual enrollment credit
General Information • Incoming 9th graders enroll in FCC College Readiness course held on our campus, taught by a college instructor • Time Management • College Planning • Self Advocacy • Active Listening & Speaking Skills
Schedules • School Hours- Our site operates within the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm • Schedules- • 9th graders will have a traditional high school schedule & one FCC course per semester • 10th grade… all students will be enrolled in between 5-8 units after 12:30 pm • 11th and 12th grades, all students are enrolled in 11 units per semester, in addition to 180 minutes of instruction at the high school • All students are enrolled in an advisory period

History • Established in 2005 as a Choice Program in partnership with Fresno City College (MOU) • Provides students concurrent enrollment at Fresno City College (FCC) to earn an Associate of Arts degree or transferable college credits while completing a high school diploma • Project-based, hands-on learning model • Students housed in portable classrooms across the street from the FCC campus since 2005 • Enrollment is at 278 student, with 8 classrooms • Currently sharing space with another high school

Community College Academic Planning for a high school student • Students are guided through how to select a college major • SEP follow educational pathways based on education goals • SEPs incorporate General Education for CSUs and/or UCs and major preparation towards four-year degrees • Not every SEP is designed to include certification • Every SEP must align with a-g planning
Challenges • Operating without an active MOU • Multiple leadership changes at SCCCD, FCC and Design Science • Four Presidents • Three Interim Presidents • Changes in Chancellors, Deans, VPs • Design Science Leadership • Students and staff have been without permanent classrooms for over 13 years • Difficulty in recruitment of students and staff, due to limitations based on classroom space • FCC currently serves approx. 17,000 students- impacting parking & facilities

Memorandum of Understanding • Data Sharing MOU- • Allows for the sharing of data between the district and post secondary partners • Allows for the college courses to be uploaded to the high school transcript • Dual Enrollment MOU- • Provides for shared responsibilities in the enrollment and management of courses • Athletic Facilities MOU- • Allows the district to share facilities with the community college partner and brings community together In progress: Facilities MOU- Fresno Unified has committed $6million towards construction of permanent facility. FCC has conducted multiple community forum meetings.

FCC: Strategic planning • In February 2017, the Board of Trustees approved the 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. The SCCCD District Strategic Planning Committee set three overarching goals, which will serve as the “north star” for Fresno City College’s planning: • 1. Excellence in Education – SCCCD is committed to empowering our colleges to cultivate excellence in educational programs and student support services. • 2. Institutional Effectiveness – SCCCD is committed to data-informed but people-driven continuous quality improvement of processes and resources. • 3. Leadership in Higher Education and Community Collaboration – SCCCD is committed to being a force for positive change by expanding partnerships in education and workforce development.
