SELF-GOVERNING COUNCIL TASKS – judiciary – administration – education – integration – legislation – defence and protection – prestige – other
Judiciary This problem seems to be settled presently though there is much controversy over it: • Older – achievement • Younger – repression for their money • Authority – too liberal or even protective • Doctors – too repressive Where is the truth?
Administrative activities • Register of doctors • Register of practices • Register of educating entities • Register of educating centers Administrative activities also seem to be settled and do not arouse too much controversy
Medical environment integration • Sports events (doctors sports competitions and winter competitions) • Tourist events • Cultural activities • Entertainment • Medical club
Education Government guards its prerogatives jealously and appropriated post-graduate and specialist education of doctors with absolute power. We became the only professional self-governing council without significant effect onto education
We have a right to: • Represent the medical profession • Act in defense of individual and collective interests of doctors • Negotiate work and payment conditions • Give opinions on legal acts
Possibilities of our actions are within the law regulations. We must learn to enforce fulfillment of our rights
No authority favours a strong professional self-governing council, especially in such trouble spot as health care
The reborn medical self-governing council approaches its majority – the age when mistakes for entire life are made
Thus, let’s concentrate on efforts to strengthen the position of medical self-governing council. Let’s do our best to increase the prestige of our profession
