OVERVIEW & BACKGROUND • Caribbean Export - Regional Trade and Investment Promotion Agency; Established 1996 • Intergovernmental Agreement signed by all CARIFORUM Member States (CARICOM & Dominican Rep) • Head Office – Barbados; Sub – regional Office – DR • Board of Directors - representative from each Member State (either the Public or Private Sector) • Major source of funds: • Counterpart contributions from Member States • Donor Funds (Major Donor – EU)

Caribbean Trade & Private Sector Development Programme(CTPSDP) • CTPSDP - increasing the competitiveness of CARIFORUM Firms • Major objective to ensure firms can successfully trade in a global environment • Increased competitiveness of firms through market expansion & export diversification support • Vibrant Caribbean Business and Investment Support Network with Strengthened Business and Investment Support Organisations • Greater Cooperation between the CARIFORUM Business Sector and counterparts in French DOMs & OCTs • Improvement of the Regulatory Environment for Private Sector Development
