AGB Code of Conduct Spectators, Parents and Carers Expected minimum standards of behaviour and conduct • As a spectator and/or parent/carer I will: • Respect the spirit of fair play in archery • Remember that children take part for fun • Recognise effort and good play as well as success • Remain behind the competitors’ area • Display and promote high standards of behaviour • Let coaches do their job and don’t confuse the archers by telling them what to do • Encourage the archers to respect one another as well as the officials • Avoid criticising an archer for making a mistake – mistakes are part of learning • Never engage in or tolerate public criticism of archers, coaches or officials
Different Situations (some not all) Telling child off for bad scores Shouting at judge after a red card to child Intimidating scorer on own child's target Going to child’s target to check how they are doing every end. Spotting arrows loudly (putting others around off) Dealing with Parents Intimidating other kids into not calling higher line calls Continuously telling the child were they are positioned in results Pointing out other kids bad shots Coaching loudly (putting others around off) Shouting at judge after an arrow value is called lower Telling child off for bad shots
Any further issues / If they continue to argue suggest they talk to the CoJ.
In any of these situations make it clear that if they continue they maybe removed from the field and that they are breaking the AGB Code of Conduct Spectators, Parents and Carers
And remember whatever the situation deal with it in a cool and calm manner
