Feliz Navidad It is a mixture of Spanish and Indian tradition. On this day most people attend a big bull fight. Gifts will not be givin this day but on Enero y seis, the feast of the three kings and the end of the Christmas season.
The translation for the song Feliz Navidad is Merry Christmas x3 Prosperous New Year and Happiness.
Celebrations • Christmas in Peru is celebrated on the 24th. • Families will celebrate with shooting off fireworks at midnight even though they are banned. • Christmas is the most important celebration of the year among Peruvians. • La Bajada de los Reyes was the arrival of the three wise men on January 6, and when the children got gifts.
Traditional foods • One of the most traditional foods is turkey and apple sauce. • Another is plum pudding, tamal, (buritto like wraps) and paneton.
Christmas colors • Their Christmas colors are bright and vivid, they are red green blue and purple.
Nativity • The nativity sets are put out by many people and are left out until La Bjeda de los Reyes, Enero y seis when the three wise men arrive. Nativity scenes with Retablos inside were very popular.
Santa Claus • Santa Claus is part of the Peru culture. • Except he does not wear the heavy suit like in America. • The summer starts in Deciembre that’s why he does not wear the suit.
