Most of us know “how”. We need to learn “to”. He “finished” the prayer first, then instructed. The “Lord’s Prayer” is a model of “How”. His example is the “to”. “To Pray, Not “how”
Before He chose the 12 – Luke 6:12 (why? Couldn’t He do this on His own?) After death of John – Matt. 14:23 Matt. 11:25-26 – thanks John 12:27ff – in times of distress. He was praying when asked – it’s His example. Jesus Is The Model
Modern Idea or Medieval Idea? Or the Biblical Idea. We believe in the reality of God, the Father. I believe I need God. John 15:5 God hears us. I Peter 3:12; James 5:16 He answers – James 5:17 It should be “automatic” – James 5:13 “Yes, No, Not Now”. Why Pray?
