Cisco Live! 2014 - San Francisco Report by David Brooks, Box Hill Institute. Fellow at International Specialised Skills Institute.
SDN Takeaways! • In the future, Network engineers will need some coding skills. • I saw a lot of terrified CCIE’s in the SDN breakout sessions. • Python appears to be the preferred language of choice. • Java is also being used, but not as popular. • REST API’s are the most common method of communication with modern SDN capable equipment. CLI for older gear. • Visit www.ciscolive.com/online for access to the sessions.
