2. Slovak Republic • Actual microfilm • 7 projects:Prešov, Košice, Bratislava, Levoča, Nitra, Banská Bystrica, Bytča, in that order of priority. • All projects are finished with microfilming (but not with cataloging, and thus, complete access) except no. 7, Bratislava, which has been microfilmed alphabetically through Veľký Grob.

3. 1869 Census of Slovakia (then Austria-Hungary) 1869 census of Austria-Hungary was filmed for the following Slovak archives only: Bratislava? (not yet known – still in microfilming), Nitra, Bytča

4. Czech Republic • Scanned images (no microfilm) and available only online. • For the time being, check RecordSearch at http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1202707853437 periodically to see if and which Czech records are yet available. Signup may be necessary. • http://10.72.24.201:8080/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1191339075046 is the site to check and fred@ldschurch.org is the e-mail to enter to look at records before they are permanently on RecordSearch (staging site). • Approximately 2.5 million images per project (archive) will be available online for church records alone.

5. Třeboň archive on Internet Using the following link, it is also available (for Třeboň only) in greater detail on the Internet at: http://digi.ceskearchivy.cz/index.php?doctree=1nr. The only drawback is that it is only in Czech.

6. Volunteers Needed to Index Czech and Slovak Records Get in touch with me if you are interested in volunteering to index Czech and Slovak records from the parishes now being microfilmed. Czech records are available within a fewmonths for indexing, Slovak ones near the end of the year. Records are in German, Czech, Hungarian, Slovak, and Latin, Shon Edwards, +1 (801) 240-4548, EdwardsSR@familysearch.org.

7. Czech Republic (cont.) • 3 current projects: Litoměřice, Opava, and Třeboň are now in the process of being digitally microfilmed. Zamrsk possibly soon. Plzeň archive not interested at this time. Praha and Brno as yet unknown. • Priorities: Plzeň, Opava, Zamrsk, Třeboň, Brno, Litoměřice, Praha, in that order. • Plzeň is currently targeted, but rights have not yet been secured. It is still in the planning stages. Eventually, we would like to acquire church, Jewish, and possibly some other records from all State Regional Archives.

11. Bratislava 7 Film Operator Reports (ORs)

12. Slovak Films All Slovak films need to be carefully analyzed. Certain record types do not appear on the Operator Reports, which catalogers catalog from, specifically conversions (konvertiti) and confirmations (birmovaní). This slows down the record availability process considerably.However, projects are now completed except Banská Bystrica (last half) and Bratislava (all).

13. (cont.) Using a new system called ORBIT, which we enter records into, we get them out to the public in a quicker fashion, although they are less detailed, initially. They are later imported into OLIB (software for the Family History Library Catalog)
