WHY TEACH PRISONERS ? • In spite of all their errors and crimes: - they are human beings - they are socially excluded (citizens) - They are the outcome/the product of a wrong way of living - they are the result of school nonachievement and exclusion - They are the result of the lack of studies • It is important to: • - integrate them socially • - help them to find a better future
My experience teaching prisoners • I teach men between the ages of 20 and 30. • - They are adults without education. • - Some started the primary school in prison and reached university.
How to achieve success? • Carry out the cooperation between students using different methodologies. • Strenghten their authonomy bearing in mind the sense of responsibility, self-respect and the respect towards others. • Sharing different points of view and developing practical skills.
