  1. Do Now: • Write the following vocabulary words in the vocabulary section of your packet: • emigrate • boycott • inferior • vermin • AGENDA: • Chapter 2 Historical Fiction:The Holocaust Daniel’s Story

Vocabularywrite the definitions in your packet • emigrate (ch 1) – to leave and move to another country • boycott(ch 1)– to refuse to buy or use something as a form of protest • inferior (ch 2) – less important, valuable or worthy • vermin (ch 2) – disgusting or unpleasant animals like cockroaches or rodents

  3. Daniel’s Story • Read along in your book as I read aloud. • As I read, make mental notes about the major events in the chapter. You will work with a partner to identify these after the reading.

  4. Partner Practice • Work with your reading partner to identify the major events in this chapter. • Write the events in the “Chapter 2” section of the packet. • Update the family tree with any character who have been added or taken away.
