Importance Of Regular Dental Check-up
Regular dental visits are necessary because they aid you in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. A dental check-up is advised at least every six months or as suggested by your dental professional. What Happens During Your Check-up? Your dental check-up is divided into two parts, namely, oral check-up or examination and cleaning or oral prophylaxis. During the check-up, the health of your gums is evaluated, a neck, throat, tongue, face and head examinations are performed to check for anything that seems out of place or unusual(swelling, redness, signs of cancer), and the mouth is examined for signs of oral cancer and vitamin deficiencies. Your teeth will also be cleaned during your visit to the dentist. Plaque and tartar are two things that cannot be removed solely by Brushing and Flossing, so your dental professional will clean those plaque and tartar using special tools, and this process is called scaling.
