We often have to send back items to be re-done due to errors, duplicating the amount of time and work we spend on it. With less stock to be catalogued, central ordering for the lending libraries and catalogue records available to be bought in - why is there a need for [so many staff in BSS]? The jobs we have to ask them to do could easily be done by the ALs and the turnaround time would be instantaneous. There is potential for further reductions from BSS.
I’m not exactly new but BSS is a mystery to me and I have no experience of what they do from their end.
