Southeast Seattle Education Coalition All Fives in Five Campaign Advocate to change policy Increase resources Further engagement • Fully disaggregated data each year • Accelerate full-day, funded kindergarten • Full-time counselor /family case manager/ social worker at every school • High quality preschool for all low-income preschoolers • Proportionate discipline • Systemic college awareness and readiness program beginning in 8th grade • ELL Certification for teachers Grow partnerships • Work with schools to apply for funding and develop capacity for grant prospecting and grant writing • Connect schools with resources such as graduate students to help write grants • Change the district ratio that determines school resourcing : more teachers should be provided with higher rates of ELL and FRL students. Change the conversation • Increased language/interpreter services • Trainings to increase parental involvement, engagement, and empowerment • SESEC Action teams to help schools with school-specific issues • Dinners to bring families together with educators and other leaders • Explore new parent engagement strategies beyond PTSAs • Quarterly meetings to bring together CBOs, educators • Workshops for educators on cultural competency, engaging parents of color, and other relevant topics • Directory of CBO/School partnerships • School tours to highlight successes • PR efforts in partnership with Rainier Chamber and other partners • All Fives in Five Launch with regional plan • Community meetings to share information and move forward www.allfivesinfive.org
