Significant Points • The highest number of Fashion Designers are employed in California and New York. • Designers with a 2-year and a 4-year degree are the ones who are usually hired. • There is a lot of competition for the job because there are so many people attracted to the glamour of the association.

  3. Nature of the Work Three basic categories • Clothing • Footwear • Accessory Design The process of designing something usually takes from 18 to 24 months. Design process is very lengthy and needs a lot of dedication.

  4. Work Envronment • Can be employed by bigger design firms where you work regular hours in wel lighted areas. • Or work freelance with very bad hours. You have to work around your clients hours. • Requires constant communication with suppliers, manufactureres, and custimers all over the world.
