  2. What Are Prepositions? Prepositionsshow location in time or space. They also show relationships between nouns. Examples The cat was on the bed. Do your homework after class not during. Get the paper with the lines.

  3. Showing Spatial Location Prepositions describe locations in space. Move your notebook around your desk. Is it under, over, inside, behind, alongside? Words describing your notebook in relation to the desk are prepositions.

  4. Showing Chronological Location Prepositions describe locations in time. When is reading class in relation to math? Is it before, after, or during? Words showing time relations are prepositions.

  5. Showing Relationships Prepositions show relationships. Examples She goes with that boy. This is the sugar for the cake. The football belongs to Mr. Dillard.

  6. List of Prepositions about, above, across, after, against, along, among, around, as, at, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, between, beyond, by, down, during, for, from, in, inside, into, near, of, off, on, onto, outside, over, past, since, than, through, to, toward, under, until, up, upon, with, within, without.

  7. Practice • Number your paper from 1-5. • There are 12 total prepositions. • List the prepositions and separate them with a comma
