Project Overview • Description: Regional road pavement reconstruction to repair deteriorating roadway • Timeline: No sooner than 2012 • Opportunities: Neighborhood enhancement with the potential for safety and operational improvements
Project History • Survey • Community Workshop #1, August 31, 2011 • Concept and options development
Existing Conditions • Public right-of-way varies in width; averaging 50-feet; pavement width averaging 24-feet • 25 MPH speed limit • Average daily traffic is up to 8,100 vehicles just west of Hunter Lake • Future 2030 traffic volumes do not warrant additional capacity improvements • Regional road serving a variety of stakeholders • Urban road with a rural, country feel • Serves residents, commuters, bikers, walkers, equestrian enthusiasts • No sidewalk, drainage, parking, center turn lane or bike lanes
Plumb Lane Crash Data • 12 crashes reported in the past 5 years • 7 rear-end (2 injuries) • 3 angle (2 injuries) • 1 sideswipe @ McCarran Boulevard • 1 non-collision (possibly weather related)
Plumb Lane Existing Conditions Deteriorating pavement. No drainage, sidewalk, or bike lanes.
Why is this an RTC Project? Plumb Lane will be reconstructed due deteriorating pavement
