HYMN • This Is My Father’s World • # 293, in the Blue Hymnals
This is my Father’s world, And to my listening earsAll nature sings, and round me rings The music of the spheres. This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thoughtOf rocks and trees, of skies • and seas; His hand • the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world. Oh, let me ne’er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father’s world: The battle is not done:Jesus who died shall be satisfied,And earth and heaven be one.
PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS – • (in unison) • Adapted from • Martin Luther, • 1483-1546
Behold, Lord, empty vessels that need to be filled. My Lord, fill us. Where we are weak in the faith, strengthen us. Where we are cold in • love, warm us and make us fervent that our love may go out to our neighbor.
When we do not have a strong and firm faith; when we doubt and are even unable to trust you altogether, O Lord, forgive us, help us, and strengthen our faith and trust in you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. • .

Scripture Readings — Galatians 1:1-5 (New Testament, Page 187 in NRSV pew Bible)
Paul an apostle—sent neither by human commission nor from human authorities, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—and all the members of God’s family who are with me,
To the churches of Galatia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to set us free from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
* This We Believe • (in unison) • John 3:16-17, NRSV This We Believe (in unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the -dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *Hymn of Commitment - Christ, When for Us You Were Baptized # 70 The News of the Community (Sing 2 times) Holy Spirit, come to us, Kindle in us the fire of your love. Holy Spirit, come to us. Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. HYMN • Just As I Am • # 370 in the Blue Hymnals
Just as I am, without one pleaBut that Thy blood was shed for me,And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Just as I am, though tossed aboutWith many a conflict, many a doubt,Fightings and fears within, without,O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;Because Thy promise I believe,O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Just as I am, Thy love unknownHas broken every barrier down; Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

We are feeble in heart • but you do not leave us. • We are restless but with you there is peace. • In us, there is bitterness, but with you there • is patience.
Your ways are past • understanding but you know the way for us because you are the way for us. In Jesus name, • we pray, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen.
