Background • Franchise owner of Techstaff • Engineering, Technical and Mfg. • Two time NTSA Florida Chapter president • 5 or 6 time chapter officer • TSC-Technical Services Certified
My Road to the FSA • Staffing World Leadership Mtg-Orlando • Engaged in the topic of reaching out • Invited to first FSA Chapter Mtg. • Elected President at first meeting!!
Where was an Earlier Invite? • Never invited to join FSA • 14 years same address, same phones • No effort to recruit after the NTSA folded • Staffing professionals and leaders with nowhere to go?
Motto • I staff, you staff, we all staff! • Why not expand your chapter by reaching out to more staffing professionals regardless of their market segment? • Future chapter growth, revenue and leadership opportunities.
Benefits of an Expanded Chapter • Membership growth • Greater voice for state and local legislative campaigns • New chapter volunteers and potential leaders • Continuing education opportunities for CSPTM and TSCTM • Additional revenue from expanded participation in programs
Real World Example-FSA Tampa Bay • Membership growth in our chapter is up 25% and includes 3 or 4 new technical firms and at least 1 healthcare. • Legislative day representation cut across all sections even though we had less than 10 attendees. • Charitable committee headed by new Eng/Tech member. • TSC members have new CEU earning opportunities. • Mtg revenue growing due to 35%+ growth in chapter meeting attendance.
ASA Sections • Each ASA section is governed by a Policy Council made up of ASA members from that section. • Policy council members assist staff in designing programs and services to meet section needs.

Making Sections Work for Chapters • Identify the types of services offered by your members • Applications • Invoices • Survey • Identify the niche markets you represent–many members serve one or two sections as well as conduct a generalist staffing business • Seek volunteers interested in representing each sector
Making Sections Work for Chapters (Cont’d) • Highlight section interests in events • Include section interest articles in newsletters • Personal invitations to events • Events of specific interests to market niche – potential break out workshops • Reach out to staffing associations
Programs Bring Members • Back to the motto-I staff, you staff, we all staff. • Most programs will have universal appeal • Can always create informal section meetings during non chapter meeting months.
