  8. OVERVIEW OF NATURAL LAWS • NUTRITION - Plant based diet, rich in whole foods eaten whole. Include fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, legumes. • EXERCISE – At least 45 minutes to 1 hour of physical activity daily. Include resistance training. • WATER – Enough water to make your urine pale. Pure water instead of other sources of fluids. Water also used externally for healing purposes • SUNLIGHT – For darker skinned individuals 30 – 45 minutes of sunlight daily. Ask doctor for “ 25 hydroxy vitamin D” test.

Keep indoor plants. • REST – At least 7 hours daily. Go to sleep before 10 pm nightly. Daily relaxation. Weekly rest. • TRUST IN GOD - Having a daily devotional life. Be obedient to all of His laws. Trust in His love for you.

  10. WHY AM I SICK? CAUSE #2 Violation of Spiritual Laws It is not God’s plan to make healthy sinners out of people. He desires to make people whole.

  11. EXAMPLES • Sin Problem - Invalid Man by Sheep Gate Paralyzed for 38 years • “See, you are well! Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”- John 5:14 AMP

  12. EXAMPLES Sexual Sins “We must not indulge in (nor tolerate) sexual immorality, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand suddenly fell dead in a single day!” – 1 Corinthians 10: 8 AMP . (Also read Numbers 25: 1 – 9) “Have nothing to do with sex sins! Any other sin that a man does, does not hurt his own body. But the man who does a sex sin sins against his own body. ….” -1 Corinthians 6:16-20 through 1 Corinthians 7:1- 5. NLV

  13. EXAMPLES Lying - Ananias and Sapphira “..Why is it that you have conceived this act of hypocrisy and deceit in your heart? You have not simply lied to people, but to God”. And hearing these words, Ananias fell down suddenly and died. - Acts 5:4-5.

  14. EXAMPLES Criticizing God’s Leaders – Miriam and Aaron "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?" And the LORD heard it… (Num 12:1-13 NKJV)

  15. EXAMPLES • Stealing “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'  In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me”. – Malachi 3: 8,9

  16. While God is merciful, compassionate, and longsuffering, it is unreasonable to expect Him to bless you while you continue in deliberate rebellion against Him. Confess any sin in your life, and seek forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

  17. WHY DO WE GET SICK? CAUSE # 3 Violation of Mental and Emotional Laws

  18. EXAMPLES • Guilt • Anxiety • Discontent • Grief • Distrust • Negative Thinking • Unforgiveness All of the above tend to break down the life forces and invite decay and death.

  19. Disease is sometimes produced, and is often greatly aggravated, by the imagination. Many are lifelong invalids who might be well if they only thought so. Many imagine that every slight exposure will cause illness, and the evil effect is produced because it is expected. Many die from disease the cause of which is wholly imaginary. Ministry Of Healing P. 241

  20. Effects Of Anger On The Body • Suppress the immune system • Slows down metabolism • Impairs brain thinking ability • Increase tension, headaches, and joint pain • Elevates heart rate and blood pressure • Triggers heart attacks

  21. Sickness of the mind prevails everywhere. Nine tenths of the diseases from which men suffer have their foundation here. Perhaps some living home trouble is, like a canker, eating to the very soul and weakening the life-forces. Remorse for sin sometimes undermines the constitution and unbalances the mind. Mind Character and Personality, Vol. 1, P. 59

  22. Unforgiveness • "Unforgiveness is like taking poison and hoping that the other person dies." Joyce Meyer

  23. Two Extremes • Either: Not forgive, criticize, try to get even, live in pain and bitterness • Or: Ignore, pretend it is ok, allow, enable, and live with the hurt

  24. What Forgiveness Is NOT • Forgiveness is not enabling, allowing, empowering, tolerating • Forgiveness is not ignoring or pretending • Forgiveness is not minimizing the sin • Forgiveness is not excusing the sin/action • Forgiveness is not living in pain and bitterness • Forgiveness is not revenge or getting even

  25. Steps to Forgiveness (Matt. 18 –entire chapter) • Must acknowledge and confess sin • Bring about unity, peace, reconciliation (even if someone has to help you with the process • Address the issue and stop the one who is hurting others! • Put clear boundaries

  26. To forgive means to release, let go and move on! • Release - the right to get even - the pain, bitterness, and negative emotions - sometimes the relationship if it do not change • IT TAKES TIME AND FAITH!

  27. Why Forgive? • God commanded us to forgive – Eph 4:32 • We all need forgiveness – Matt 6:14 • It will help us to feel better (to get rid of the poison) • To bring about reconciliation – 2 Cor 5:18-21

  28. Forgiveness is not pretending that nothing happened or what happened doesn’t hurt. It isn’t forgetting or going back and starting all over. Instead, forgiveness is refusing to allow anything to destroy the relationship. There is a place to say I am sorry and a place to tell others all is forgiven but the goal of both is to RESTORE THE RELATIONSHIP.

  29. WHY DO WE GET SICK? CAUSE # 4 For The Glory Of God

  30. EXAMPLES • Job – Read entire book of Job. • David - “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.” - Ps 119:67,71 • Paul – To keep him from being conceited he was given a “thorn” in his flesh. - 2 Corinthians 12: 7 - 10

  31. EXAMPLES • Man blind from birth - "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life”. John 9:1-3 • Lazarus - "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." John 11:1-4

  32. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. - 2 Samuel 12 : 13 - 15

  33. How Can I Heal My Mind, Body and Spirit? Choose to confess your sins to Jesus today “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy”. - Prov. 28:13

  34. How Can I Heal My Mind, Body and Spirit? • Come to Jesus • “Our Savior’s words, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28), are a prescription for the healing of physical, mental, and spiritual ills. Though men have brought suffering upon themselves by their own wrongdoing, He regards them with pity. In Him they may find help. He will do great things for those who trust in Him”. Ministry of Healing, p 115

  35. How Can I Heal My Mind, Body and Spirit? • Pray with Thanksgiving • “Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4: 6 - 7

  36. “Nothing tends more to promote health of body and of soul than does a spirit of gratitude and praise. It is a positive duty to resist melancholy, discontented thoughts and feelings … as much a duty as it is to pray”. Ministry of Healing p 253

  37. It is God’s plan to restore man to his original state of perfect health, to heal him from the wounds and bruises made by sin. Every true child of God will be healed – either now, or in the resurrection to come.
