NJSBA Search Process (6 C’s) –Comprehensive Open process
NJSBA Search Process (6 C’s cont.) • Confidential - - throughout the process to protect candidates and maintain search integrity. All board discussions and interviews are bound to confidentiality through the Code of Ethics. • Consensus- inclusive process seeking community, administrative, and staff input. The Board of Education is legally charged with making the employment decision after reviewing applications, interviewing, reference checking and site visits. Input forums staff with the staff and community help support development of interview questions and selection criteria. • Contract- support and training by NJSBA Labor Relations Department on the legal and allowable aspects of the contract. • Continuity- NJSBA staff sponsors Board/Superintendent training to support the transition to a new superintendent and to promote effective district governance and communication.
