  2. Overview • Make accommodations for students using MS Word.  • Create study guides, quizzes and tests using interactive fill-in-the-blank, multiple choice, and drop-down features of MS Word (Part I). • Create audio files so that students can have directions read to them (Part II).

What works… • Amy & students like it because there is no learning curve in the process • Love to use the computer • No typing or writing required unless text field is used • Audio files can work with students help • Students take quiz/test and then print but they don’t save • Can use as study guide as a KWL

  5. Agenda Today: • Take a quiz and see what it’s all about! • Demonstration in Word: fill in the blank, multiple choice and drop down menu questions. • Practice by making your own quiz or study guide. Next class: • Using audio files in MS Word. • Uploading files to the Internet.

  6. Take a Quiz The quiz can be found on Violet's website (in the UMS Staff section of the MTSD site).

Some good uses for forms: Allow students to: • Easily select choices from a list. • Easily change choices. • To save time for your students by allowing them to choose responses from a drop-down box. • Avoid mistakes due to losing place on paper. • Submit a document with an age-appropriate appearance. • Receive appropriate level of support.

Add speech to documents so students can: • Have directions spoken aloud so they can work independently • Have test and worksheet items read aloud • Use embedded guided reading questions to support comprehension • Record summaries, important facts, personal responses, etc. during reading • Record answers to worksheet questions

  14. Importing your Word document onto your website

  15. Place cursor where you want to insert file Once your form is complete, locked, and saved, you can begin to upload your form.

  16. Click paper clip to insert file link

  17. Select file from your computer or network and click next….

  18. Click browse and find your file…

  19. Type the text you want to see and choose Open in New Window. Click insert file.

  20. Your file appears as a hyperlink.
