Buddy Taping Supplies: ½ or 1 inch white tape • Use two strips of tape and strap the 2 fingers together: Place one strip above the middle knuckle and one below • Never tape only the 3rd and 4th finger together as leaves 5th finger to be injured more often
Simple Arch Supplies: 1½ inch white tape **Remember to always lift up on arch • Place the first strip on the lateral side (little toe side) of the foot closer to the toes and lift up on the medial side of the foot (arch) • Apply approximately four strips overlapping one half the width moving towards the ankle to complete the simple arch
Heel Cup Supplies: 1 inch white tape • Athlete should be positioned face down • Place first strip from ankle knob to ankle knob across the Achilles tendon. Be sure not to pull too hard! • Place second strip at a right angle to the first. From ankle knob to ankle knob. Pull tightly! • Repeat steps in order alternating each strip closing towards the heel • Place the final strip of the heel cup on a diagonal from ankle knob to ankle knob moving directly across tip of heel • Complete by closing anchors, covering loose ends with tape
Wrist Wrap Supplies: 1 ½ inch white tape • Place the first circular piece of tape approximately 2 inches proximally to the wrist joint • Continue with individual circular pieces of tape until you reach just distal to the wrist joint • The last piece should be a “U” shape, covering the top of the hand but not the palm
Patellar Tendon Strap Supplies: PreWrap, 1 inch elastic tape, and scissors • Wrap PreWrap around the athlete’s leg above the knee cap about 5 times • Roll the PreWrap down into one solid strap and place just below the knee cap over the patellar tendon • Place the elastic tape directly on the PreWrap • Pull tightly over the front of the knee • Lay the tape around the back of the knee • Pull the tape tightly around the front of the knee and cut
Shin Splint Supplies: 1 ½ inch white tape • Have athlete sit on taping table with foot on the table and flexed towards him or her • Begin placing circular pieces of tape around the lower leg just distally to where the pain begins • Pull with moderate tension • Continue with individual circular pieces of tape stopping just proximally to where the pain ends
