Impersonators – additional measures we can take • Initial Registration: (staff training in the following skills) • Facial comparison • Checking ID documents for validity (implements to use) • UV light / magnifying glass • ID Scan machines • IAM photo / fingerscan • Capture candidates’ signature

  9. Impersonators – additional measures we can take • During test: • Check ID documents more thoroughly • Check candidate more thoroughly – use IAM photo • Registering for speaking test: • Further facial comparison / ID document check • IAM verification • Confronting the candidate

Impersonators – Confronting the candidate • What to do when you suspect? • Discuss in groups the following questions: • Would you let them sit the test? • What would you say to them on the test day? • If you decided they were an impersonator what would you say to them? • What else do you do (on test day / follow-up with BC)? • Do you call the police?

Impersonators – additional measures we can take • Post-test (after test day): • Send malpractice form to RMT / Cambridge English (in administrators manual) • We can use data gathered by you on test day: IAM photo / application photo / ID document / test materials etc to make a decision • We can also invite candidate for post-test interview
