  1. Welcome to the State Budget Impasse Forum Bring accountability back to our state government

  2. The State of Illinois is moving into the THIRD YEARwithout a fiscal budget

  3. What’s at stake? • School districts may be unable to open their doors this fall • Nursing homes are fully leveraged, unable to borrow more to provide services • Social services agencies are cutting services or closing

  4. What’s really at stake? • The education of our children • The care of the elderly and infirm • The health of those unable to secure needed medication and medical attention • The sustainability of communities

  5. The state currently owes: --Canton Schools $1.6 million --School districts across the state $14 billion --Fulton-Mason Crisis Service nearly $300,000 --Over 1 year of medicaid payments to Sunset Nursing Home (Additional statistics will be shared throughout the evening)
