The Best FIFA Football Awards™, which will be held for the sixth time on 17 January 2022, annually honour the most outstanding members of the world’s most popular sport.
They not only represent the game’s highest honour for coaches and footballers, but are a celebration in which football fans are recognised - and play a vital and active part.
The Best FIFA Men's Player
Robert Lewandowski : The Best FIFA Men's Player 2020 scored 41 league goals – a record for a Bundesliga season – as his club won the title again, adding to a FIFA Club World Cup win. He was also prolific for Poland, scoring three goals in three matches at UEFA EURO 2020.
The Best FIFA Men's Player is given to the most outstanding player in men's football as voted for by an international jury comprising the current coaches of all men's national teams (one per team), current captains of all men's national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.
From a shortlist of 11 male players, the panel will select the winner for their respective achievements during the period from 8 October 2020 to 7 August 2021.
The Best FIFA Women's Player
Alexia Putellas : A Primera División and UEFA Women's Champions League winner, being named in the Squad of the Season for the latter.
The Best FIFA Women's Player is given to the most outstanding player in women's football as voted for by an international jury comprising the current coaches of all women's national teams (one per team), current captains of all women's national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.
From a shortlist of 11 female players, the panel will select the winner for their respective achievements during the period from 8 October 2020 to 6 August 2021.
The Best FIFA Men's Coach
Thomas Tuchel : Won the UEFA Champions League, beating domestic champions Manchester City in the 2020-21 final. He also took the club to the FA Cup final and fourth in the league, ensuring Champions League qualification had they not secured an automatic berth as holders.

The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper
Édouard Mendy : Became the first African goalkeeper to appear in a European Cup final since 1985 when he started for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League 2020-21 showpiece in Porto, pocketing a winner's medal after the success against Manchester City.

Christiane Endler : The Chile captain was named the outstanding keeper in Division 1 Féminine last season, conceding just four goals en route to ending Lyon's 14-year run of championships as PSG won a first top-flight title.

The FIFA Puskás Award
Érik Lamela (ARG) : Outstanding awareness and technique to pull off a driven rabona inside the penalty area.
The FIFA Puskás Award is given to the player judged to have scored the most aesthetically significant goal, regardless of championship, gender or nationality and scored without the result of luck or a mistake and in support of fair play.
The Best FIFA Fan Award
Denmark and Finland fans : As the UEFA EURO 2020 crowd waited for news on Christian Eriksen's health, fans from both teams banded together in an emotional tribute. Finnish fans chanted "Christian!" and Danish supporters responded with "Eriksen".
The FIFA Fan Award recognises that supporters around the world are the heartbeat of the beautiful game.
FIFA launched the award in 2016 to spotlight an outstanding moment or gesture by any fan or fan group regardless of league level, gender or nationality. The award is unique in the context of The Best FIFA Football Awards as it is for the fans and voted by the fans.

FIFA Fair Play Award
Denmark national team/Danish medical team and staff : The FIFA Fair Play Award encompasses many aspects of football and manifests itself in a variety of ways on and off the pitch. It can be in playing by the rules and promoting the Laws of the Game, respecting team-mates, opponents, match officials and/or fans, or acting against discrimination. Simply put, fair play is football in its purest form.
Since 1987, FIFA has recognised exemplary fair play with the FIFA Fair Play Award. The honour is bestowed on a player, coach, team, match official, individual fan or fan group in recognition of exemplary fair play behaviour, either on or off the pitch, such as:
- Playing by the rules and promoting the Laws of the Game; and/or
- respecting team-mates, opponents, match officials and/or fans; and/or
- acting against discrimination.
The winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award will be selected by a panel of experts representing both FIFA and external football stakeholders.
