  4. In the beginning… • Several findings Food Agency (FAVV) • Request for legal assistance, concerning NV DION VANDEWIELE with regard to a.o. offences against food safety from France

  5. The inquiry • Start: 2002 • Investigation Unit: FJP Ghent • Multidisciplinary approach- FJP- Administrations (+ technically skilled persons) • Approach in phase: preparation/search/analysis of data

  6. Recorded offences (summary) • Forgery • Use of forged pieces • Merchandise fraud • Offences against food safety • Offences against the waste Decree • Offences against the manure Decree

  7. Results (first instance) (1) • Natural persons- imprisonment from 3 m up to 5 yrs for 6 persons- fines from 2.500 € up to 44.000 € • Judicial persons- NV KOVAN, NV MOROVAN, NV JANNA: 55.000 €- NV WIEL and NV VANDEWIELE: 110.000 €
