Noise sources(classified according to their mobility) -mobile:installations for hydrocarbon pavement mixtures, cold emulsions, concretes and mineral aggregates; -immobile:machines for bituminous treatments, distributorof hydrocarbon pavement mixtures, rolling stones, grades, bulldozers, means of transport. Work environments(works in circulated areasand in areas near installationsand machines) - in traffic, on public roadsor on the roads of urban or rural localities. - work equipment. Objectives -zero accidents -identification of noise sources -permanent evaluation of risks

Evaluation of noise sources (in compliance with the legislation in force and with the limits admitted by STAS 11617/1990.) -Noise values measuredon machines and installations from 11 risk points(6 immobile installationsand 5 mobile machines)are at the limit or above the standard limit(all risk points were registerd at the command center). -Results: -values of noise measurements are shown in the table. -of 57 employees working on machines and installations with risk of noise exposure, no case of hearing diseases was registered. -Employee informing: the company’s mechanics working on machines were informed about the controls carried about until then, about the risk of noise exposure and about the necessary protection measures.

PREVENTION MEASURES AGAINST LABOR ACCIDENTS AND PROFFESIONALL DISEASES TECNICAL - refer to production means and work environment -reduction of noise level at source by purchasing high-quality technical equipment with a reduced noise level [association of S.C. DRUMCO S.A with the Austrian corporation STRABAG AG.] -measures for work security and health are adopted since the execution project phase ORGANIZATIONAL – refer to the doer and the task - during the execution, the activity is organized with the purpose of reducing the period when employees are exposed to noise -security signals [marks, pictographs, light signals, acoustic signals ] -controlling the health state of noise-exposed employees [“ELIDAN SANTE” Timisoara - Medical check point of occupational medicine] -funds allocated for this field [ about300.000 RON / 2005 ] -reduction of noise exposure using a good work schedule (work by hourly shifts) -use of individual protection equipment [ear phone from 80 dB(A)] -informing the employees about the negative effects of noise[periodic training, specifications, posters] -control of application measures

10. CONCLUSIONS 1. Management policy in this area led to real evaluation of noise sources in the company; 2. Funds allocated as consequence of stated capital increase after the association with the Austrian corporation STRABAG A.G., together with the results of noise sources evaluation led to better equipment and economic advantages since the productive time of each employee was also better used. 3. The efficient organization of the medical service of occupational medicine and of the service for labor security led to: *diminution of auditive fatigue, discomfort, stress, irreversible auditive deficiency, deafness, etc . • *elimination of temporary incapacity of work of the employees who work in risk areas exposed to noise. *increase of the employees’ efficiency as consequence of a better use of the productive time of each employee.
