Appertain (v): to belong or be connected as a rightful part or attribute. • the rights and privileges that appertain to marriage
Distemper (n): bad humor or temper • His distemper always ruined my day
Haste (n): rapidity of motion • We made haste to get there on time
Asunder (adv): into parts • The paper was torn asunder.
Enmity (n): positive, active, and typically mutual hatred or ill will. • There's a long history of enmity between them.
Peril (n): exposure to the risk of being injured, destroyed, or lost; danger • People are unaware of the peril these miners face each day.
Banish (v): to drive out or remove from a home or place of usual resort or continuance • He was banished for life.
Exile (n): the state or a period of forced absence from one's country or home. • They hoped that his exile would be temporary.
Rancor (n): bitter deep-seated ill will • She answered her accusers calmly and without rancor.
Haughty (adj): blatantly and disdainfully proud • He rejected their offer with a tone of haughty disdain.
