Being an NSCS Leader • Volunteering to Organize Upcoming NSCS Community Service Projects • Attending Mandatory Monthly Meetings • Encouraging academic excellence • Participating in more than just the mandatory community service activities • Thinking of new activities that will encourage member involvement.

  5. Definition a service that is performed for the benefit of the public or its institutions an unpaid service for the benefit of the public that is performed by lawbreakers as part (or all) of their sentence Community Service Community service can also benefit you!!

  6. This Month… • NSCS Books Drive • Month-long • donate books to Baltimore City Public schools • 2006 Baltimore Heart Walk • October 28th • Help the American Heart Association in its fight against heart disease and stroke • UMBC Fast-a-Thon • October 18; donate lunch money &/or canned foods

  7. 2006-2007 School year • Collected 114 cans, donated to Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless • Canned food Drive (November) • Toys and Gifts Drive (December) • My Sister’s Place • Charity Ball • Holistic Life Foundation • Many more….check your emails
