  3. Present Progressive • present tense of estar + the present participle: • ar-ando comprando • er-iendo comiendo • ir-iendo escribiendo

  4. Present Progressive (cont.) • Change -iendo to -yendo when the stem ends in a vowel. • Some -ir verbs change vowels in the stem of the participle. • Pronouns are placed before estar or attached to the participle.
