  4. Criteria • Use latest OFSTED criteria – be aware how you will be judged – Lesson plans –let them in on the secret – Consider the 10 part lesson • Visit and support each other – discuss what works • Agree what to have ready to show observers!

  7. 10 part lesson • Starter – List – How do we get them ready to learn? • Write up and make subject objective clear WILT – What I’m learning today – L.O. = ? • Remind them about their targets – IEPs, WILF – What I am looking for = ? • Teach and work (main) • Remind and resettle or refocus

  8. Let’s look at lessons 3, 4 or 10? • Work and teach and support learning • What did you learn? Assessment of leaning in the subject? – The Plenary • Was your target met? Assessment for Learning – self assessment! • Record with and alongside if appropriate check understanding – mark as you go – empower support staff to be fully involved • Celebrate learning, effort and praise progress and extend by learning at home

  11. Planning and discussion time What do you need to do? Use latest documents to plan! Agree planning format- long, medium and short! Personalise your lesson plan! Penpictures? Explain the needs and levels of the learners! IEPs – provide adult and pupil versions Use visual, practical approaches Use ICT – build in assessments! Revisit/revise/reinforce and record with and alongside your learners!
