  3. 約壹 1 John 2:7–8 (NASB) • 7 Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard. 8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining. • 7親愛的弟兄阿，我寫給你們的，不是一條新命令，乃是你們從起初所受的舊命令‧這舊命令就是你們所聽見的道‧8再者，我寫給你們的，是一條新命令，在主是真的，在你們也是真的‧因為黑暗漸漸過去，真光已經照耀‧

  4. 約壹 1 John 2:9–11 (NASB) • 9 The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. 10 The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. • 9人若說自己在光明中‧卻恨他的弟兄，他到如今還是在黑暗裡‧10愛弟兄的就是住在光明中，在他並沒有絆跌的緣由‧11惟獨恨弟兄的是在黑暗裡，且在黑暗裡行，也不知道往那裡去，因為黑暗叫他眼睛瞎了‧

Love is an old commandment 愛是舊命令(2:7; 約 John 13:34-35; 申 Deut 6:5; 利 Lev 19:18; 太 Matt 22:34-40; 可 Mark 12:28-31) • 太 Matthew 22:37–40 (NIV84) • 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” • 37耶穌對他說，你要盡心，盡性，盡意，愛主你的神‧38這是誡命中的第一，且是最大的‧39其次也相仿，就是要愛人如己‧40這兩條誡命，是律法和先知一切道理的總綱‧

  7. 約John 13:34–35 (NIV84) • 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” • 34 我賜給你們一條新命令，乃是叫你們彼此相愛‧我怎樣愛你們，你們也要怎樣相愛‧35 你們若有彼此相愛的心，眾人因此就認出你們是我的門徒了‧

  10. 約壹 1 John 3:17–18 (NASB) • 17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. • 17凡有世上財物的，看見弟兄窮乏，卻塞住憐恤的心，愛 神的心怎能存在他裡面呢‧18小子們哪，我們相愛，不要只在言語和舌頭上‧總要在行為和誠實上‧

  12. 林前1 Cor 13:1–3 (NASB) • 1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. • 1我若能說萬人的方言，並天使的話語卻沒有愛，我就成了鳴的鑼，響的鈸一般‧ 2我若有先知講道之能，也明白各樣的奧秘，各樣的知識‧而且有全備的信，叫我能夠移山，卻沒有愛，我就算不得什麼‧ 3我若將所有的賙濟窮人，又捨己身叫人焚燒，卻沒有愛，仍然與我無益‧

Description/Definition of “Agape” Love“聖愛”的描述/定義 • Character of God (神的特性) (彼後 2Pet1:4; 彼前 1Pet 4:8) • Believers got this with indwelling God (由內住的神而來) • Spiritual gift (屬靈恩賜) • Decision/choice (決定/選擇) • Originated from the one who loves (由愛人者發出) • Unconditional (無條件) • Increase value of the one who is loved (增加被愛者的价值) • It seeks the wellbeing of the one who is loved (為被愛者的好處) • No fear in this love (沒有懼怕) • It edifies / builds up (建造) • An overflow of God’s love inside (從裡面神的愛滿溢)
