This project aims to educate sponsors/supervisors on the purpose and benefits of the Leader program, improving planning and utilization of VISTA Leaders. A comprehensive library of resources will be compiled for easy access.

Educating Sponsors/Supervisors on Effective Use of Leaders Action Learning Challenge Project June – October, 2011 Problem/Opportunity Statement Too often sponsor organizations/supervisors are left to oversee a Leader assignment without adequate knowledge of the intended purpose of the Leader program and the strengthened capacity a Leader can provide. This is caused, in part, by a lack of awareness on the part of the sponsors regarding available resources & support. The result is an under-planned Leader position and an under-utilized Leader, which, in turn, minimizes the benefit for the sponsor organization and undermines the integrity of the VISTA Leader program.
Educating Sponsors/Supervisors on Effective Use of Leaders Action Learning Challenge Project June – October, 2011 Our Mission The Action Learning Challenge Project ‘Educating Sponsors/Supervisors on Effective Use of Leaders’ seeks to increase the capacity of sponsor organizations and to enhance the effectiveness of the Leader program, ultimately improving the planning of Leader positions and enhancing the utilization of VISTA Leaders.
