9. Printing Press: • Invention that allowed faster copying & printing of words & pictures; helped spread Renaissance ideas much faster than they could before press
10. Christian Humanism • A combination of Christian and Humanist ideas. Studied the history of Christianity (not Greece and Rome). • Desiderius Erasmus wrote a book criticizing some Church practices. Called for Church reform.
11. Realism Style of art that attempts to make things look like they would in real life. In the Northern Renaissance people were painted to look real with physical flaws. They painted scenes from daily life.
