It has 60 departments and 15 research centres which are arranged in 6 Faculties.The Meat Science & Technology Masters Degree is based at the Langford site 20 km south of the centre of Bristol. OBJECTIVES: - Prepare skilled post-graduates to support the meat industry, having expertise in the following : . Animal Production & the Meat Chain . Animal Welfare . Biochemistry & Meat Quality . Hygiene & Public Health . Meat Processing . Poultry Production & Processing . Refrigeration & Heat Processing Most post-graduates go on to work in managerial posts in the meat/food industry or to study for a PhD - Establish the connection between scientific research and needs of the meat/food industry A one year masters degree of 7 modules and an in-depth research project. 100% Compulsory 0% Optional distributed as: Master of Science Degree (Full time or part time) - student funding available from European Social Fund. Postgraduate Diploma - study the same 7 modules but without research project. Course modules can be taken individually. Date: January 2001
