  1. Theresa Watkins Block 1A something like fate By: SusaneColasanti Published by: The Penguin Group 2010

  2. Introduction • The setting is at a high school and Lani’s house, plus some other minor places. • The story starts off with Lani and Blake talking about horoscopes, friends, and school.

  3. Protagonist/Antagonist • The Protagonist is Lani. She is shy and quiet, but loves the environment and she is best friends with Erin. • The Antagonist is Erin. She’s outgoing, very confident, and likes to help others and is best friends with Lani.

  4. Central Conflict • The conflict starts when Lani and Erin’s boyfriend, Jason, start getting close. When Erin goes away for camp during the summer, Lani and Jason get even closer and feelings are definitely being developed.

  5. Minor Characters • Blake: Lani and Erin’s best friend • Bianca: Mean girl who doesn’t like Lani • Jason: Erin’s boyfriend

  6. Everybody’s a Critic • “It was a quick and easy book to read and it was totally cliché. It was enjoyable to see how the different relationships developed.” • http://www.thereaderbee.com/2011/05/review-something-like-fate-by-susane.html • “It was a good book! It had another person that was throne into the mix!” • http://www.thecompulsivereader.com/2010/04/something-life-fate-by-susane-colasanti.html

  7. My take on it… • I thought that the book was very interesting. It had drama and excitement throughout the whole story. Some of it was predictable, but most of it was a surprise! I really enjoyed it!
