  2. Does your child enjoy brushing or see it as a chore? Brushing is not always fun for kids but it is important that your child brushes his/her teeth twice a day for 2 minutes and follows a proper oral hygiene routine. Incorporating early oral care habits in your child’s daily routine will help in the prevention of various infections and dental problems in the future.

  3. Try the following tips to make brushing fun for your kids: 1. Allow your child to pick out their own toothbrush of their favorite colour or design. 2. Pick up or invest in a child-friendly toothpaste which is easily available and comes in fun flavors and colours. 3. Brush your teeth in front of your child. Your child might copy you when they see you enjoy brushing your teeth. 4. Allow your child to bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal into the bathroom during their brushing time.

  4. 5. Play your child’s favorite song during teeth brushing time. If the song is 2 minutes long, then it is an added advantage. 6. Find helpful and visual educational books about brushing, and read it along with your child. 7. Reward or praise your child for brushing their teeth. Get a sticker poster and place a sticker on the board every day or every time they brush.

  5. Along with brushing, teach your child to floss their teeth, and don’t forget to bring your child to a dentist twice in a year for oral check-ups and cleanings. At Drs. Heidary And Ghoreshi Dental Group, we offer three types of appointments for kids. We also alleviate their common fears and further educate them about various dental problems. Our specially designed children’s program helps children take control of their oral health.
