b-Tagging GroupDESD Usage G. Watts (UW-Seattle) for the b-tagging group
Analysis in the B-Tagging Group • Performance • Detailed Studies of inputs to btagging • Tracks, Verticies, Jets • Understanding how b-Tagging puts the tracks together • Secondary verticies, IP distributions, etc. • Combinations of the input objects • Data/MC agreement • Calibration • Scale Factors to integrate out the differences between the Data and MC G. Watts (Seattle)
Inputs • Performance • Tracks • HITS • Vertices • Jets • Calibration • Tracks • Vertices • Jets Only in ESD or Tracking dESD Up to now we have only run on the ESD’s Available on the AOD (but running on ESD anyway) G. Watts (Seattle)
dESD Usage • Offline Tracking dESD Prescale • Up to now needed every last drop of statistics • Now have built up enough statistics we can thinking about switching • Timescale: discussion will occur in our October workshop • Calibration: • Well be statistics starved for a long time • Doesn’t need extra HITS information • So will continue with full AOD datasample • Future Interest will be only in the DESD_TRACK • The DESD_MBIAS is no longer useful. G. Watts (Seattle)
Summary • Currently using the ESD because is it easy • All our code is carefully tested with the ESDs • Many 100’s of nb-1 of tests • Inertia • Two forces that are going to make us reconsider: • Our ntuples are starting to get very large • Statistics isn’t a problem • But we need to have good run coverage to spot problems throughout. • Speed of making the ntuple • Unlikely to be very different from making them from the ESDs. • Change For b-Tagging • Likely to occur around the time of September reprocessing G.
