  3. Thieves cut timber where they find it and take only what they want

  4. From Creeks and Riparian Reserves that are excluded from logging

  5. And from Fish rearing streams

  6. The cedar blocks are hauled in pickups under tarps

  7. And carry no timber marks or identification

  8. They are also carried in Cube style vans both old and new (or rentals) to conceal their presence

  9. What Can You Do?If you think you have witnessed a crime in the woods, do not approach the person and do not take a photo of them! Instead observe what theyare doing, record it on paper and report it to theauthorities.

  10. If you see suspicious activity like chain saws running at night, unusual vehicles in unusual places, the cutting of timber in fish rearing streams

  11. 1/ Observe any suspicious activity.2/ Record your observations on paper.3/ Report the incident to any of the following:

  12. • The local Forest Service office @(250) 731-3100• The local detachment of the police, or• Crime Stoppers @ 1-800-222-8477.
