  7. Organizational Preparation Make your Organization more attractive to donors • What’s your story? make your mission stand out • What’s your impact? Data, Data, Data • Don’t hide! Websites or publications are important to visibility

  8. Donor Engagement Once your donor is connected.. Be clear about your goals and ability Be specific about your ask Be knowledgeable about the donor’s interest Be prepared to provide good proposal and clear financials

  9. Engagement is key to long-term success Keep the Donor engaged Keep in touch, whether or not you receive the grant Acknowledge the gift Provide clear and timely reports Invite donors to events and in advisory capacity
