Many prosthetics currently worn either do not look like real limbs, and those that do simply look like a fake plastic facsimile. • While function is preferred over appearance, an ugly part of the body can lower self esteem.
Futuristic movies and television depict beautiful and functional prosthetics. • Once performance is mastered, beauty should be the next step; this is considered cosmesis.
Immaculate • This design is entirely centered on visual appeal. • The joints are made in a way to give more mobility than a regular human arm. • This design is still in the Prototype phase.
