3. Memo SP 28-2014 • Paid Lunch Equity: Guidance for School Year 2014-15 • State Agencies may offer PLE exemptions for 14-15’ SY for SFAs with a strong financial standing • PLE exemption form will be available on the SNT website soon

4. Memo SP 29-2014 • Consolidated Appropriations Act Report Language on Waivers for School Breakfast and Smart Snacks • USDA will not be providing waivers for the School Breakfast and Smart Snacks requirements that go into effect on July 1, 2014

5. Memo SP 30-2014 • Determining Eligibility for Two Cent Differential Reimbursement in New Schools • This memo provides guidance on new schools interested in receiving the two cents differential.

6. Independent Review of Applications • All LEAs with 10% or more certification/benefit issuance errors found during an AR are required to conduct a second review of meal applications • LEAs are notified by June 30, 2014 • A report is submitted to the state

Community Eligibility Provision • An alternative to collecting household applications for free and reduced price meals in high poverty schools • LEAs, schools or group of schools must have an Identified Student Percentage of 40% or more to participate • The list of eligible and near eligible LEAs is now available on our website at: http://fns.dpi.wi.gov/fns_cep • The school listing will be available by May 1, 2014

10. Wellness Policy Proposed Rule • PE Teachers and School Health Professionals can participate in the LWP – (new!) • Goals for LWP need to include nutrition promotion – (new!) • Should use evidenced-based strategies • New policy for food & beverage marketing – (new!) • Comment period open through April 28, 2014

12. Production Records • A friendly reminder that production records must be kept for all meals served, indicating all food items, including milk and condiments. • USDA says, “If it’s not on the production record, it didn’t happen”.
